My name is Kendra and I’m currently a junior here at FAU. I’m majoring in Biology in pursuit of a career in the medical field. I was born in the city of Ft. Lauderdale but I come from a Caribbean background. I love to read, play volleyball, laugh, and be around good people! One of the main reasons why I was interested in being a part of IFP is because of all the wonderful people you find yourself surrounded by from all different backgrounds.
My name is Marcel Zikofsky, other wise known as just Marc. I was born in Germany and moved here in 1991, when I was 4 years old. I used to visit Germany a lot, but now I am lucky to go every 5 years or so. I graduated Nova Southeast University with a Bachelor of Sciences in Sociology. Currently, I am attending FAU to finish my Anthropology Bachelor with an interest in archaeology. I have been practicing prehistoric and historic archaeology for 4 years now, excavating in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Geneva, Florida. My future plans are to join a cultural resource management firm, traveling up and down the southeastern United States, excavating in different states. After doing this for approximately 3 years, I plan on attending the University of South Florida to complete my Master’s degree in Cultural Resource Management. After this, i plan on starting my own Cultural Resource Management Firm.
My name is Samica Telhomme and I’m a junior, majoring in International Business and Trade. I like to play tennis, read, do yoga, write poetry, and listen to music. I was born in Haiti but I’ve been living in Miami for quite some time before moving on campus. I speak three languages fluently: Haitian Creole, French, and English and I’m also learning two more: Spanish and Korean.
I am currently a senior at FAU. I was born In the Dominican Republic but have lived in the US for 25 years since I was 3 years old. I like going to the movies, standup comedy, and technology. I am also very political and enjoy learning new things.

My name is Charlotte and I will be a senior in the Music program in Fall 2013 majoring in vocal performance. I love everything involving music: listening to it, playing instruments (piano, guitar and ocarina flutes), and of course singing! Aside from that I enjoy hanging out with my friends, traveling, going to the beach and trying out new foods
I am originally from Germany -born and raised- but my parents are Hungarian and I speak both languages. I am very much interested in different languages and cultures and I can’t wait to meet all the new international students!
Sameko Munroe is a graduate student in the College of Business. He enjoys learning new languages, traveling, and meeting people.
I am Brazilian and have lived in the US since 1999. I first was an exchange student here for one year, then went to college, and now have been working full-time since 2005. I work for the FAU’s College of Medicine as an IT Coordinator and do my MBA part-time here also. The experience of living in the US has allowed me to meet so many different people from different cultures and has made me learn how to appreciate and understand differences. I do not think I could ever have learned so much if I had stayed only in Brazil.
Wha gwaan? Que pasa? O-genki desu ka? (I’m actually only fluent in English…and I sometimes even speak that horribly)
I’m Jamaican. I wasn’t born there, but I was born and raised in Broward County which is close enough. And I’m a Jamaican in the sense that I’m Black, German & Indian. Yup, mixed.
So I’m a Junior studying Exercise Science and hoping to teach people about proper diet, exercise and the importance of health especially for weight loss. I’m also trying to become a better artist and I want to explore a lot of different mediums. I usually like to draw with just pencil and paper.
Why am I a peer mentor? Because I love making friends who can share knowledge with me, whether it’s about customs, food or the answer on my homework. And I love to do the same in return.
So if you like food, Anime, video games, nature even working out TALK TO ME!
My name is Shakeera Maragh. I am a senior seeking a B.A. in Studio Art. I enjoy meeting people and traveling. I am a member of IFP which lets me meet interesting international student scholars, now have the bug to travel and advance my education so not stopping at only at a B.A.
My name is Kara Marsh and I am a sophomore here at FAU. I am still undecided in terms of my major, but I am definitely not undecided in terms of my life! In the future I strive to organize an international non-profit organization, to learn at least two other languages (French and Spanish?), and to travel the world.
I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1987. I am the oldest of all the children on my mothers and fathers side of the family. I share my mother with one brother and I share my father with two brothers and a sister. I graduated high school in 2005 from Nova High and moved to Georgia to attend Columbus State University. I moved back to Florida in 2007 and received my Associates Degree in Political Science from Broward College in 2012. I am now working on my Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. I enjoy outdoor activities, dancing, reading, and trying new food. I also like to stay active and fit considering that I believe that eating is a hobby and I love it! Therefore, I am exercising six days out of the week. My passion is helping the less fortunate. I volunteer at a variety of places such as my local elementary school, the university, a food pantry, and the one that I have been doing the longest is working at my church with the youth. I can honestly admit I have a heart for serving the people and even in my career aspirations my ultimate goal is to help people where ever the help is needed.
